American
illustrator Carl Erickson (1891 - 1958) was born in Illinois to Swedish immigrant parents. He studied at the Chicago Academy of
Fine Arts. Although limited to only two years of schooling, his
artistic talent attracted the likes well known advertisement accounts in Chicago. In 1914 Eric,
as he became known, made his way to New York to continue his advertising
illustrations. He is especially well known for this work for Vogue and Coty cosmetics. He married Lee
Creelman, a successful staff illustrator at Vogue, with whom he had one
daughter, Charlotte. Eric dominated the field of fashion illustration
for over thirty five years, creating fashion illustrations and drawing
society portraits.

Wow, these are beautiful. I especially like the the woman with the fur coat. I'm really not familiar with the history of fashion illustration, so I love this series of 'legends'.
